כשמו כן הוא were the 3 words uttered by HaRav HaGoan R' Moshe Shapiro ztz"l upon meeting him for the first time. Rabbi Sweet spent over 10 years learning in various yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel and was zoche to grow close to a variety of true torah giants along the way. Many reasons are given as to what there is to gain in Eretz Yisroel if it's the avira d'ara, the lifestyle or the independence etc. For Rabbi Sweet it was one thing and that was connecting with true torah giants in a personal way! Rabbi Sweet started his path in TJ becoming a talmid of R Elazar Langsam (Talmid muvhak [44 years!] of R Moshe Shapiro ztz"l) then a short tekufa in Lakewood East where he grew close to another giant of giants Rav Moshe Carelbach Talmid of R Leib Bakst ztz"l, Talmid of R Aaron Kotler z"l, older brother of R Binyomin Carlebach from the Mir and father of the Chavatzeles Hasharon. Then in Yeshivas Bais Yisroel otherwise known as BAIS. There he grew close to his Rosh Yeshiva Harav Hagoan R Doniel Lehrfeld shlita and his Rosh Kollel Rav Hillel Ruvel shlita talmid muvhak (over 30 yrs!) of Rav Gustman ztz"l and lastly, his Mashgiach R' Avigdor Yosef Brazil shlita talmid of the late mashgiach R' Wolbe ztz"l. In the last 10 years while in Chutz La'aretz he grew close to Harav R' Reuven Leuchter shlita talmid muvhak of Rav Wolbe ztz"l. Rabbi Sweet shaped his own life based on the teachings of his rebbeim and is privileged to share those insights with his listeners. To join a weekly shiur shared on whatsapp click link below
